    Clearwater Paper Corporation (NYSE: CLW) is a $1.8B company that manufactures quality consumer tissue, away from home tissue, parent role tissue, bleached paperboard and pulp at its 11 manufacturing and converting locations across the nation. The Demand Planning Manager is a member of the Supply Chain leadership team in Clearwater’s CPD division, reporting directly to the Senior Director of Supply Chain and manages two direct reports.  This position is responsible for all activities that lead to the development, communication, reporting, and ongoing maintenance of a rolling 12-18 month baseline demand plan.  The demand plan is used to drive strategic and tactical manufacturing, converting, distribution and financial/budgeting decisions and is comprised of 1800+ individual SKUs across 28 ship from locations.  A successful candidate will collaborate with our Clearwater Paper Sales team to identify and include any incremental sales opportunities that are not captured in the baseline demand plan as well as lead the monthly S&OP demand review process.


    Demand Planning

    • Develop exception-based demand planning at the item/ship-to level
    • Create measurable KPIs that serve to improve overall forecast accuracy
    • Work closely with sales, marketing and customer service to better understand and interpret market factors that will impact the demand plan
    • Develop a culture of continuous improvement and move the division to industry best practices
    • Demonstrated hands on experience with demand planning systems, preferably Demantra
    • Working knowledge of best-in-class demand planning strategies and techniques
    • Very strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, and evaluate forecast results.
    • Manage new product launches, transition items, and promotional activity within the system
    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve forecasting processes and systems
    • Monitor and communicate forecast accuracy KPIs to cross-functional teams
    • Identify and execute corrective actions to reduce sales forecast error


    Sales and Operations Planning

    • Manage the current S&OP process with the intent to modify and improve going forward. Generate consensus on the S&OP modifications among Manufacturing, Sales, Finance, and Executive Leadership
    • Participate in monthly meetings with Planning teams to communicate longer term plans that feed into the master scheduling process (master plan to master schedule)
    • Partner with and coordinate activity across the sales, manufacturing and distribution network to ensure overall success in implementing plans


    Data Governance

    • Lead a team that is responsible for developing and managing key data that impact the forecast. Input data may include: historical data, new product projections, promotion lifts and specific customer trends.
    • The Demand Planning Team is responsible for new item/customer set-up and maintenance in forecasting system. This includes collaboration with Sales and analyzing historical trends to set up initial forecasts
    • Development and review of reports to validate data integrity of systems
    • Validation of forecast information imported to planning systems (production, orders, shipments, etc.)
    • Validation of forecast information exported from planning systems
    • Partner with users to determine system effectiveness as well as efficiencies and provide continuous improvement opportunities


    Education and Experience:

    Bachelors degree, preferably in Supply Chain, Business or related field

    6-9 years of related experience
