    We are searching for a Paper Machine Superintendent in Shelby, North Carolina to improve and optimize current and future processes for two state-of-the-art paper machines across our existing mill and over our new site expansion. Reporting to the mill manager, this role will establish strategic direction and execute operational excellence for the two sites. This is a world class facility with an opportunity make a lasting impact on our business.

    Responsibilities

    • Support and deploys Clearwater’s safety strategy with a strong sense of ownership.
    • Establish strategic direction of the paper mill operation, with the understanding of the current state, the desired future state, and develops and executes plans and strategies to close the gaps.
    • Drive excellence by actively supporting and challenging the team to achieve record breaking results.
    • Provide strategic leadership and coaching to employees through a shared vision for the operation.
    • Drive Clearwater’s continuous improvement strategies that yield sustainable results.
    • Develop and control operating budget and expenses for the department.
    • Recommend and implement equipment improvements, new systems and process changes to improve productivity and efficiency for all capital projects.
    • Develop and coach direct reports to ensure bench strength and leadership skills.

    Qualifications

    Required education and related experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Pulp & Paper Science
    • Minimum of 5 years operational tissue experience

    Experience that will put you ahead:

    • TPM experience
    • Ultra Tissue Technology experience
