  • Overview

    Research and monitor existing and future client base to establish new product platforms, including feasibility, implementation, P&L implications and manage the implementation of standard new/existing/updated product stages in an efficient, economically structured, and customer friendly method.  Develop market and Clearwater Paper knowledge in order to work cross-functionally (internally and with existing and prospective customers) to assess and develop winning strategies for products, packaging and promotion for key accounts and driving customer advocacy for CLW.  Build team to monitor and manage project timelines. 


    • Define and execute the strategic direction for product development, graphic design/packaging and marketing services to drive increased consumer demand.
    • Develop product objectives and strategy, positioning, pricing, and profitability.
    • Attract, lead, manage and mentor employees to ensure alignment with core beliefs, development and superior performance of talent.
    • Set goals and measure performance for work group.
    • Clearly communicate key project status, implications and recommendations to ensure successful execution.
    • Collaborate with internal functions to gain alignment, insights and prioritization of objectives.
    • Communicate project results, learnings and lead applicable change.
    • Interact at multiple levels within the customer framework (both existing customers and new) to assess strategies to align Clearwater Paper product strategies with customers. 
    • Ensure integration and collaboration with internal customers. 
    • Align portfolio with consumer / customer insights and capabilities / capacities to achieve revenue and profit annual (short-term) and two to three year (long-term) plan.
    • Drive execution across all elements of marketing plan including research, product testing, product launch, packaging and graphic design.
    • Reallocate resources as needed as business priorities shift.


    Required education and related experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related field preferred. Masters a plus.
    • Minimum eight (8) years’ experience in a product development, packaging development or marketing or sales related field required.  CPG – retailer experience required --- Private label experience a plus.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Good listening, organizational, project management and follow-up skills.
    • Must be able to work professionally with a diverse group of people and be able to multi-task
    • High energy, entrepreneurial, self-motivated to support business development and growth.
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access required.
    • Proficiency in working with and manipulating internal product database information.

    Illustrative Essential Functions:

    • Some mental, visual, physical fatigue from computer terminal use.
    • Primarily Office and Retailer Store Environment.
    • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment in the manufacturing environment.
    • Travel required (20%).
