    Provide engineering services to develop and implement capital projects.  Assist operations and maintenance with technical analyses and designs to improve existing processes and equipment.  Manage project work to be in compliance with environmental and safety regulations.  Use engineering standards and specifications in the design and construction of projects. Lead operating and maintenance departments in developing proposed projects.

    • Develop cost estimates, plans, and schedules for new projects.
    • Prepare and submit authorization for capital expenditure and major repair work.
    • Prepare request for quotations, evaluate proposals, and issue contracts for equipment purchases, material purchases, design services, and construction contracts.
    • Verify existing equipment layouts and dimensions.
    • Provide engineering analysis during selection and optimization of equipment.
    • Provide detailed design drawings for equipment installations.
    • Provide technical assistance to trouble-shoot equipment and/or operating problems.
    • Research options and recommend solutions to resolve operating and/or maintenance issues.
    • Coordinate contractor’s activities for contracted-out maintenance work during equipment downtimes.
    • Plan and execute preventive maintenance process
    • Investigate options for electrical spare parts and create a critical parts inventory
    • Collaborate with Safety Dept. to ensure effective lock out procedures.
    • Provide training to electrical contractors to ensure compliance with company procedures and safe work practices.
    • Provide guidance to production workers and maintenance personnel regarding safe electrical practices.


    Required education and related experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
    • Minimum 2 years experience in manufacturing and project management
    • Paper Industry experience preferred

    Skills and Abilities (technical/professional skills, expertise and qualifications):

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel
    • Proficient in AutoCAD
    • Proficient in JD Edwards or a similar enterprise system
    • Experience with control systems such as PLC's, Variable Speed motor drives, HMI
    • Communicate effectively in both oral and written form
    • Understanding of National Electric Code and NFPA 70E Standards
