Overview

Clearwater Paper Corporation (NYSE: CLW) is a $1.8B manufacturer of quality consumer tissue,  parent role tissue, bleached paperboard and pulp at its 11 manufacturing and converting locations across the nation. The Director, Infrastructure and Technology is the thought and executional leader challenged with transforming the company’s technology infrastructure and operations platforms delivering an effective and efficient portfolio with a critical eye on the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).  This role will develop and deliver the enterprise roadmap to streamline, standardize and optimize the technology portfolio to achieve substantive improvement in stability, security, and scalability while ensuring a positive user experience.  As a member of the IT Leadership team, this role is responsible for collaborating with key business stakeholders to drive overall company IT strategy including critical decisions on insource/outsource recommendations, vendor selection and platform optimization.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Execution:

  • Develop and execute technology and infrastructure transformation roadmap inclusive of but not limited to Data Center Optimization, Network, VoIP, Cloud/laaS/PaaS optimization
  • Identify, Develop and Implement multiyear roadmap to streamline and standardize infrastructure, operating systems and business security and continuity of operations across the North America manufacturing footprint
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous process and technology improvements in infrastructure, operations continuity, content management, business analytics, and end user experiences
  • Monitor technology horizon and innovation for opportunities to drive business growth through enhanced business analytics and continuously manage TCO
  • Develop and recommend resourcing plans to support IT Roadmap inclusive of Budget development and control, vendor selection and performance management, talent, hardware and software recommendations

Organization Leadership & Development:

  • Lead and develop team of IT professionals through Clearwater Paper’s Performance and Talent Management Process inclusive of objective and goal setting, individual development planning, and organization succession development
  • Personally demonstrate Clearwater Paper’s Values of Communication, Commitment, Collaboration and Character through actions and hold team accountable to same
  • Change champion and coach leading self and organization through change; building team capabilities to transition operating system, application and technology approach

 

 

Representative Areas of Technology Expertise

  • Successful ITIL & ERP implementations/upgrades; hands on leadership with high performance big data analytics across manufacturing and supply chain operations
  • Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) optimization efforts that maintain/enhance integrity of IT ecosystems
  • Optimization of voice/VoIP, messaging, and collaboration resources improving productivity and connectivity of highly mobile workforce deployed outside manufacturing sites
  • Large scale migration to cloud with Microsoft O365, voice/video- PBX, collaboration solutions with cloud service environments like AWS, Google or Azure
  • Depth and breadth of security credentials and experience in defining and implementing SOX controls, BYOD, CASB, SSO, cyber predictive analytics and industrial controls systems security
  • Large scale infrastructure and technology platform optimization including selection and migration to ideal service provider

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline required, Masters or advanced degree strongly desired
  • 8 years of (team and operations) leadership across multiple business units (operations organizations) or countries
  • 5 years of (team and operations) leadership in process manufacturing environment
  • Previous capital and operations budget ownership required
  • 3-5 years of Experience with ERP Systems (Oracle, JDE, SAP) analytics and in memory computing; large scale implementation/portfolio expansion desired
  • Previous experience in vendor selection, service contract negotiations, and contract performance management required

 

Skills/Abilities:  (technical/professional skills, expertise and qualifications)

  • Certifications in networking and security or enterprise architecture strongly desired (Cisco, Microsoft, GIAC,CISSP Preferred)
  • Project and program management across geographically distributed teams in matrixed & collaborative environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in a matrixed and highly collaborative environment to influence and drive IT strategies to support identified and unidentified business opportunities
  • Demonstrated abilities to identify and lead process improvement initiatives functionally and organizationally applying Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen methodologies and change management
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal); leading and presenting complex materials for various audiences
  • Demonstrated strong change management skills
