  • Overview

    Clearwater Paper Corporation (NYSE: CLW) is a $1.8B manufacturer of quality consumer tissue, away from home tissue, parent roll tissue, bleached paperboard and pulp at its 11 manufacturing and converting locations across the nation. The Process Engineer II will support our Neenah mill in continuous improvement in quality, waste reduction, safety, and production time. This is a hands on role, where communication, creativity, and problem solving skills are key. We look to our team to make their mark on our business here in Neenah! 


    Responsible for leadership, process improvement/optimization, product development, quality and process support.

    • Evaluates new technologies, implements process changes and develops systems to reduce operating costs, increase production and improve quality.
    • Leads the technical process for operating areas to solve equipment and process-related problems.
    • Develops working knowledge of all process areas in areas including process flow, operator responsibility, major quality attributes and areas for improvement.
    • Initiates, conducts and documents results of process trials to improve productivity and/or quality.
    • Assists with proposals to justify capital expenditures, help manages technical aspects and assist with coordination of start-up of capital projects.
    • Recommends and implements process improvements or chemical changes to improve the overall operation where applicable.
    • Develops standard operating procedures and provides necessary training or coaching to operators.
    • Participates in the development and mentorship of less experienced engineers and process technicians.



    Required education and related experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
    • At least 3 years professional level experience. 
    • Paper industry and/or tissue experience is preferred.


    Skills and Abilities:

    • Intermediate knowledge of PI (Process Information System).
    • Previous experience using a Production Management system preferred.
    • Previous project experience with continuous improvement.
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills required.  
    • Good verbal and written communication skills required.
    • Excellent Planning and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and an intermediate level.
