Overview

Responsible for the day-to-day operational activities of the CPD Quality Lab including, but not limited to, scheduling, prioritizing tasks, and ordering materials.  Under general direction, perform a variety of routine laboratory operations supporting quality, technical, marketing, sales, and manufacturing.  Operate, calibrate, and maintain special laboratory equipment for product testing.

Responsibilities

 

  • Receive, organize, and test products.
  • Provide accurate, consistent product testing in support of competitive product analysis, national brand equivalent testing, and internal product testing for periodic analysis and product development.
  • Ensure data is reported and entered into databases in accurate and timely manner.
  • Support Quality Analyst in preparing competitive and comparative data reports.
  • Maintain sample room and product testing lab.
  • Validate equipment performance and manage equipment calibration.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment performance issues in CPD Quality Lab and at manufacturing sites, as requested.
  • Ensure product evaluation test methods are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Work with Quality Engineer and Site Quality personnel to troubleshoot and resolve method and equipment issues at manufacturing sites.
  • Work with Quality team to develop and implement new and improved product evaluation methods.
  • Support quality team members as directed to ensure quality and business requirements are met in a timely manner, including supporting data entry, reporting, and analysis for consumer claims, sample orders, document maintenance, and other group functions.
  • Order supplies in support of CPD Quality Lab.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Some post-high school or technical courses preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years lab experience and/or QA/QC testing required.

 

Skills/Abilities:

  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Analytical, math, data management skills and a mechanical aptitude.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team oriented, good interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, able to plan, organize and prioritize.

 

Illustrative Essential Functions:

  • Industrial Environment – subject to extreme heat and cold.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn in the mill environment.
  • Noisy, dusty and working around moving equipment.
